Session Details
Getting Started with Windows Azure
Windows Azure provides a comprehensive platform for building, deploying, and running applications in the cloud. In this session we quickly answer the question “What is Windows Azure?”. You will see how to get started with the Windows Azure SDK and tools to build your first application. You will also learn the key concepts for using Windows Azure Compute.
Windows Azure Storage
Windows Azure Storage is a highly available and massively scalable storage service in the cloud for storing a variety of forms of data. In this session, you will learn how to get started using storage blobs, tables, queues, and drives with Windows Azure.
Understanding SQL Azure
What if you could have rich SQL database functionality as a continuously available service on the Windows Azure Platform without having to worry about purchasing, installing and maintaining database server hardware and software? Well you can, it's called SQL Azure Database, and if you know how to develop SQL Server database applications you already have everything you need to get started using it as a part of your Windows Azure applications. In this session we'll give you an overview of SQL Azure Database, explain how it differs from on-premise SQL Server, and show you some tips and tricks to get started developing new database applications or migrating existing SQL Server databases to the cloud.
Securing, Connecting, and Scaling
After you’ve learned about the core Windows Azure services, there are several questions that might come to mind. For instance, how do you authenticate and authorize users for your application? How can you connect and send messages to tiers of your application? How can you scale out your application to realize the benefits of cloud computing? In this session we will answer these questions while introducing additional services and features for helping to build secure, connected, and scalable applications.
